Cammie Adams, competing in the Junior Category, timed 2 hours 47 minutes 7.568 secs in the eight-lap 50 mile event which came off on Saturday.

Ahead of Adams were the Guyanese pair of Paul De Nobgrega and Rdymauk Jeffrey, in that order.

The other Vincentian competitor in the race, Zefal Bailey, did not finish, as he was given wrong directions by race stewards.

Both Adams and Bailey are preparing for the Caribbean Junior Championships which are set for the Dominican Republic in August.

President of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union Trevor Bailey is optimistic that this country can get one of the three top places in the Dominican Republic outing.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was also represented in the Anguilla Championships by overseas-based cyclist Orano Andrews, who contested the time trial and the 85 mile Elite Road Race.

Andrews’ return in the time trial was 20 minutes 11.562 secs, which earned him a fourth place.

In the 85-mile race, Andrews clocked 3 hours 53 minutes 17.332 secs, and ended in ninth position. (RT)
