Clean sweep for Maple Two in Division Three Knockout title

Maple Two took out the broom last week Monday and swept the Division Three Knockout title of the Digicel National Club Tournament at the Kingstown Netball Centre.{{more}}

Maple Two stopped Sea Operations Nah Fren Dem 28-25, to add the elimination competition to the league title they had won earlier in the season.

It was the third trophy for Maple Two in their outing this year.

When the 2012 edition opened on March 11 at the same venue, Maple Two was adjudged the Best Dressed team on parade.

Also determined last week Monday were the Individual and Team Shooting Competitions.

National Captain and shooter Gailene Gordon of Western Union Mitres won the Individual Shooting Competition. Second was Mary Ann Fredrick of French Verandah X – Ceed and third was Shelisha Davis, also of Mitres.

The Team Shooting Competition was won by Western Union Mitres. French Verandah X-CEED placed second and third was Vita Malt Maple.

Mitres were set to play Vita Maple yesterday, Monday in the final of the Division One Knockout, following which the prize giving and awards ceremony was set to take place.

Mitres was seeking to do the double, having already secured the league crown, as well as making it double crowned champions for two years straight. (RT)
