Mixed results for Vincentian teams in BCL

There were mixed results last weekend for Vincentian teams participating in the Brooklyn Cricket League (BCL).{{more}}

On Sunday, Vincentian outfit Imperial won by four wickets against Wanderers at Marine Park C. Batting first, Wanderers made 150 all out in 29 overs. Leon Hyde hit 30 and Rawl Jackman 29.

In response, Imperial made 151 for 6 from 31 overs. Former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windwards and Combined Islands batsman Colville Browne struck 43 and Devane Warner 38.

Bowling for Wanderers, Shane Anthony had 2 for 22.

Also playing on Sunday at Marine Park A, it was the same results for Cavaliers against Panthers.

Taking first strike, Cavaliers made 165 all out. Captain Cameron Cuffy made 56 and Bert Andrews 30.

Bowling for Panthers, Mohamed Bilal took 3 for 36, Nousherwan Adil 3 for 37, Salman Ahmed 2 for 16 and Imran Haider 2 for 30.

Panthers replied with 169 for 4, after being 24 for 4. Nousherwan Adil hit 103 not out and Ijaz Butt 33 not out. Timothy Warner, picked up 3 for 19, as Panthers won by six wickets and have won all seven matches thus far.

Before that though, on Saturday, in an all-Vincy clash between Queensbury and Cavaliers, the latter came away victors.

Batting first, Cavaliers made 278 for 6; Queensbury, in reply, fell short when they only made 110 all out.

This Saturday, Queensbury will again meet Cavaliers at Marine Park C. Also playing on Saturday are Imperial and Panthers at Marine Park B, with Middlesex and Sheffield meeting at Marine Park D.

On Sunday at Marine Park B, Wanderers meets Vincentian team Middlesex, while at Marine Park C, Cavaliers plays Travel Treat and at Sea view, Imperial takes on Sheffield. (RT)
