These players emerged from the 13th edition of the regional tournament, which ended here at the Arnos Vale Netball Complex last Thursday night.

The two are Goal Shooter Kadijah Williams and mid-court player, Geziel Wilson, who plays in the Goal Defence and Wing Defence positions.

Champions Barbados secured the bulk of the selection, with seven players included in the squad.

Among them are Shonica Wharton, Sheniqua Thomas, Sade Browne, Ashley Marshall, Tia Jones, Najee Moore and Vanessa Bobb.

Selected from St Lucia are Shimeke Paul, Lisa Casimir and Jeanique Ettienne.

Safiya Fortune, Nafeisha Radgman, Kurlisha Hoyce and Aneicia Baptiste are the Trinidadians completing those selected.

The sixteen are regarded as the best on show and received gifts from the host country St Vincent and the Grenadines.

President of the Caribbean Netball Association Kathy Harper-Hall said that, unlike previous years, a concerted effort would be made to have the team more than just a select squad.

“Every year we select the top sixteen players and we try to do something for them, but we have not been able to do much, and we’re hoping that whatever happens in 2013, we’re hoping to do something positive for the young West Indies, go somewhere; but first we have to look for a sponsor,” Harper- Hall projected.(RT)
