Last Saturday, they recorded back-to- back victories, despite playing without several of the first choices.

Playing against Rillan Hill, Police posted 104 for 7 in their 20 overs; Brenton Smith and Renrick Cato with 19 runs each, were the lead scorers.

Rillan Hill was cruising after a productive start, but self-destructed, as six of their batsmen fell to the run-out route. They were eventually all out for 98 in 18.2 overs, six runs short of their target.

Police then took advantage of Spring Village winning by 102 runs. Police batted first and amassed 192, losing five wickets in the process. Trevor Bailey, 58 not out and Saleem George, 31, were chiefly responsible.

In reply, Spring Village was dismissed for 90 in 15.1 overs. Saleem George finished with an excellent all-round performance, taking 3 for 9.

On Sunday, Circumstances defeated Sand Crab by 32 runs. Circumstance, after being 67 for 9, managed to reach 107 all out in 19.1 overs. Otis Matthews hit 19. Sand Crab was strangled by tight bowling and was all out for 75 in 16.5 overs.

Also on Sunday, Topsidaz got back their groove to record a 32-run triumph over Spring Village.

Topsidaz posted 129 for 6 in 20 overs; Noel Gaymes hit 39 not out. Spring Village, at their turn, was bowled out for 97 in 19.1 overs. Shesford John grabbed 5 for 16, including a hat-trick.

And, to cap it off Valley Boys and Suprizers played to a dramatic tie.

Suprizers batted first and posted 94 all out in 18.5 overs. Winston Bascombe scored 31 as Anton Caesar bagged 4 for 17.

Valley Boys, needing 12 runs off the last over, only got 11, to leave the scores level. National footballer Roy Richards hit 35.

Matches will continue this weekend at the Kearton’s Playing Field.(RT)
