The GTC Easter Tournament was the lone test of skills for the budding players from Under-6 to Under 14, as no similar event was put on by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association.

After days of intense competition among the fifty participants, the petite Alyssa James of the Salvation Army Pre School took the Girls Under-6 tile. Also in that age category, but among the boys, the winner was Che Connell.

Zalika Henry pouched the Girls Under-8, and completing that age group was Rio Connell who triumphed among his peers.

Henry was in winner’s row in the higher age category as she secured the Girls Under-10, with Akiel De Roche claiming the Boys Under-10 title.

Alexi Humphrey was the winner in the Girls Under-12, and Luke Browne copped the Boys Under-12.

Kamara Williams won the Girls Under-14 and Richard Hoyte, the boys’ title in that age category.

Alexi Humphrey was adjudged as the Most Promising Female Player and runner up in the Boys Under-10, Shamron Da Souza, the Most Promising Male Player.

The next event on the GTC’s calendar is the Da Silva Classics scheduled to serve off later this month.(RT)
