Set out to develop people and communities through sports and physical education, NASPE is modeled along the lines of the Trinidad and Tobago Alliance of Sports and Physical Education (TTASPE).

And, on hand to give NASPE some guidelines, was Andre Collins of NASPE, who navigated through the pathways in getting such an organisation going.

Also addressing last Saturday’s launch was Ian Hypolite, Chairman of the local steering committee of NASPE; Director of Physical Education and Sports Nelson Hillocks and Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Cecil Mc Kie.

Those present also last Saturday’s soft launch shared their varied experiences and held frank discussions on the way forward for NASPE. They were charged with bolstering NASPE and to spread its gospel.

It was also revealed that NASPE will host a major workshop set for this September, with several international resource personnel who will have their say.

NASPE’s Steering Committee also has Ortis Jack as its Assistant Chairman, Rohan Keizer- Treasurer, and Saline Barbour-Public Relations Officer.

The Committee Members are Sean Stanley and Sonja Lewis.

NASPE’s Steering Committee meets every Thursday at 1:30 pm at the Conference Room at the Ministry of National Reconciliation.(RT)
