Grassroot Tennis Club Easter Tennis Tournament ends tomorrow

The Second edition of the Grassroot Tennis Club (GTC) Easter Junior Tennis Tournament closes off tomorrow at the club’s base, the Haddon Hotels courts, on Murray’s Road.{{more}}

The tournament served off last Monday, March 26, with fifty participants competing in categories ranging from Boys and Girls Under 6, Under 8, Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 Singles.

The tournament, which is sanctioned by the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tennis Association, welcomed for the first time participation from the Salvation Army Pre- School.

In some of the matches completed in the Boys Under-14, Richard Hoyte defeated Elroy Samuel 6-0, 6-1, and Josh Mounsey beat Kareem Cornwall 6-4, 6-1.

In the Girls Under 14 Singles, Shaniah Williams stopped Gabrielle Benn 6-7, 7-5, 6-4.

In the Boys Under 12, Antonio Forbes Jr. defeated Sai Tadepalli 9-6, Antonio Cain humbled Rio Connell 9-3 and Luke Browne defeated Richard Hoyte 9-3.

The Tournament is being directed by Kyle De Freitas, and tournament referee is Khir Huggins.

A Closing and Presentation Ceremony is set for tomorrow also at the Haddon Hotels courts, beginning at 4:30 pm.
