RSVG Police set off in Bagga Softball Cricket Competition


Defending champions of the National Lotteries Authority Bagga T/20 Softball Competition, RSVG Police, last Sunday showed no mercy on Sunset, as they got their campaign off on a winning note at the Keartons Playing Field.{{more}}

RSVG Police rattled up 228 for 8 in their 20 overs. Salvan Browne slammed 83 and Kenroy Martin 54. When Sunset batted, Stadius Solomon hit 40, but his team was dismissed for 130 in 19.5 overs.

Also on Sunday, Valley Boys defeated Sand Crab by 21 runs. Valleys boys posted 104 all out in 16 overs, Fitzroy Mc Dowall made 38. Lasford Barbour and Uist Francis took 3 wickets for 18 and 17 runs respectively Lasford Barbour then struck a powerful 46, but Kerwyn Browne stemmed the run flow, taking 4 for 2, as Sand Crab was bowled out for 83.

In Sunday’s other match, Summerset brushed aside new comers Rillan Hill by 76 runs. Summerset chalked up 102 for 5 in their 20 overs, Noxell Michael with 39 and Deon Patterson with 23, were the main contributors with the bat.

Rawle Stapleton took 3 for 27, bowling for Rillan Hill who were dismissed for 25 in 13.5 overs; Josiah Cato bagged 4 for 9.

On Saturday, Suprizers overcame Hillview by two wickets.

Hillview, batting first, strolled to 70 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Edison Williams scored 26, as Neville Williams took 2 for 6.

Suprizers laboured 76 for 6 in 16.3 overs. Dillon Duncan top scored with 21, Edison Williams and Danbert Williams had two wickets each.

In the other match on Saturday, Circumstances saw off Ruddy’s Electrical by 12 runs.

Circumstances fell for 55 in 10.5 overs, with Ronnique Laborde making 15. Kenrick Gould was the chief wicket taker for Ruddy’s Electrical with 5 for 9.

Ruddy’s Electrical was dismissed for 43 in 16. 2 overs. Lemuel Browne 2 for 7 and Donald Lett 2 for 8, bowled their team to victory.

Another set of matches will be played this weekend.(RT)
