The SSTTA players had to answer to their opponents, as they were defeated 3-0 in the first match up.

Stephen Payne defeated Damion Dublin three sets to nil; Rashad King overcame Kavir Gaymes 3-1 and Russell Maxwell beat Javier de Shong three sets to nil.

In another match-up between the two teams, King whipped Kamal Hunte 3-0; Payne blasted Romano Spencer by the same margin and Maxwell had no mercy on Desron Wilson, as he also won 3-0.

In the Open singles semifinals, Rashad King beat Stephen Payne three sets to two, in an all Barbadian affair, while Hunte saw off Damion Dublin four sets to one, in an SSTTA clash.

In the singles finals, Hunte was no match for King, as he went under four sets to nil. The series of friendly matches was primarily to give local Table Tennis players much needed exposure against their Barbadian counterparts and to keep the sport in St Vincent and the Grenadines alive.

The event was made possible by locally based companies Alhap Shipping Inc., KPMG, Cox and Richards Shipping Agency, Skyline and John Pilgrim and the productivity Council of Barbados.(RT)
