NLA T/20 continues amidst fall out

Amidst the ruptures in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams Twenty/20 Cricket Competition over the late entry of the News Spartans, there was some on field action last weekend.{{more}}

There were victories for defending champion Team Rivals, Police Two, Eat-Rite Saints and ASCO.

Team Rivals defeated OLA Boutique Radcliffe by four wickets at Arnos Vale Two on Saturday. Radcliffe reached 105 for 7 off their 20-overs; Deighton Butler grabbed 3 for 15, bowling for Team Rivals.

In reply, Team Rivals made 108 for 6 from 17.4 overs; Marvin Small top scored with 28 and Deighton Butler supported with 24 not out; Drumo Toney grabbed for 15 for Radcliffe.

Eat-Rite Saints beat News Spartans by seven wickets on Sunday afternoon at Arnos Vale Two. Spartans were bundled out for 75 in 16.5-overs. Slyvannus Morgan, 3 for 12, Isaac Haywood, 2 for 15, and Kentish Phillips, 2 for 28, shared the wickets for Eat-Rite Saints, which replied with 79 for 3. Sunil Ambris hit 23, and Devane, Warner 22 not out. Dawnley Joseph took 2 for 28 for Spartans.

ASCO defeated Rudy’s Electrical Unique Warriors by 75 runs at Buccament. ASCO posted 178 for 6 off their 20-overs; Desron Maloney and Elton Williams were joint topscorers with 39.Chris King and Oswald Soleyn added 28 each.

Samuel Byam bagged 2 for 24, Joseph Medford, 2 for 32, bowling for Rudy’s Electrical Unique Warriors, which responded with 103 for 8 off their 20-overs. Conrad Jack hit 22. Desron Maloney snared 3 for 6 and Andre Hunte finished with 2 for 15 bowling for ASCO.

Police Two inflicted a seven wicket win over Smashers, also at Buccament on Sunday.

Smashers were dismissed for 69 off 16 overs, as Osrick James captured 4 for 5 and Mohammad Lavia claimed 2 for 21 for the law officers.

In reply, Police Two raced to 70 for 3 off 6-overs; Mc Cleon Williams lashed 28. Marvin Harry took 2 for 11 for Smashers.

The other two matches which were set should have involved the News Spartans against Smashers and Victors One.

But Smashers and Victors One did not show up Buccament and Arnos Vale Two in that order. (RT)
