Belair, Gomea unbeaten in WSG Primary Schools’ Cricket Competition

The RSVG Police Force Belair Government School and Coreas Hazells Inc Gomea Methodist won two in two last Saturday and Sunday as the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) West St. George Primary Schools T/20 Cricket Competition began in earnest.{{more}}

On Saturday, Belair humbled Log Enterprise Dorsetshire Hill Government by nine runs at the Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field.

Belair batted first and made 41 all out in 11.4 overs. Bowling for Dorsetshire Hill Ted Roberts Jr. took 5 for 9, and Steven Greaves, 4 for 14.

In reply, Dorsetshire Hill reached 32 all out in 15 overs, with Jahiel Walters, Devin Woods and Rondre John taking two wickets each.

On Sunday, Belair, playing on their home ground, beat First Caribbean International Bank Sion Hill by six wickets.

Sion Hill batted first and was dismissed for 60 in 12 overs. Brian Hannibal made 20.

Left arm spinner Rondre John was the wrecker of the Sion Hill’s innings as he bagged 5 for 4, and Jawansa Woods took 3 for 13.

In reply, Belair reached 62 for 4 in 11.3overs. Dominic Richards hit 21 not out. Trevon Williams was Sion Hill’s most successful bowler, with 3 for 13.

Gomea Methodist had inflicted a 52 run defeat on Sion Hill on Saturday at the Belair Playing Field.

Gomea got up to 134 all out in 14.1 overs. Denroy Hazell made 32 and Delshan Welcome, 20.

Bowling for Sion Hill, Brian Alexander took 4 for 27 and Tereece Ballantyne had 3 for 23.

In response, Sion Hill reached 82 all out in 16.3 overs. Brian Alexander hit 17, and Shearman Tittle, 13

Delshan Welcome took 3 for 2, while Roniel Tash, Milkiel Pierre and Chris Payne took two wickets each.

Gomea added their second win on Sunday at the Dorsetshire Hill Playing Field when they outplayed the St. Vincent Teachers’ Credit Union Belmont by three wickets.

Belmont scored 66 all out in 15 overs. Keron Williams made 15. Bowling for Gomea Methodist Milkiel Pierre took 3 for 18, and Denroy Hazell, 2 for 9

Gomea Methodist erased the total, but not without a stutter as they reached 70 for 7 in 11.2overs. Delshan Welcome struck 20 and Kyle Chandler made 19. The most successful bowler for Belmont was Teron Williams who took 2 for 17. (RT)
