Bailey still rules the road

It was easy as Sunday morning last Sunday afternoon for top local cyclist Shimano Bailey as he rode his way to another victory in the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union 2012 road races programme.{{more}}

Bailey distanced the other cyclist in the 44 mile event, which took place from Ratho Mill to the Arnos Vale Round About, circuiting the route eleven times, in 2 hours 22 minutes 7 seconds.

Unlike the previous races, there was a big gap among the top finishers.

In a distant second was the evergreen Peter Durrant, whose time was 2 hours 34 minutes and 16 seconds.

Durrant also collected the veterans’ award for his effort.

Trailing Bailey and Durrant to the tape was the consistent and ever present Cammie Adams, who was third.

Adams’ time was 2 hours 37 minutes, 39 seconds.

The next race on the calendar is a 50 miler, which will take place from Kingstown to Langley Park in Georgetown and back. (RT)
