Hector slams Softball ton

St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards batsman Donwell Hector scored a century and had four wickets, in the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Credit Union Clinchers Softball Cricket Competition, last weekend at the Richland Park Playing Field, popularly called the Oval.{{more}}

With his team Victors One opting not to turn up for their scheduled match against the News Spartans in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams T/20 Competition, under the auspices of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association, Hector made good use of the weekend.

Hector’s innings of 113 was dotted with 10 fours and 9 sixes, as he laid the foundation for Nice Radio Clinchers to beat Rapids by 189 runs.

Hector and Dean Harry, who made 42, shared in a third wicket partnership of 107, as Clinchers posted 239 for 9 from their allotment of 20 overs. Bowling for Rapids, Randel Buntyn took 3 for 25.

In response, Rapids were turned over for 50. Hector completed a good all-round performance as he grabbed 4 for 8.

In another match, Gairy Construction Simple Boys defeated Out-Ah-Trouble by 33 runs. Simple Boys scored 134 for 3 in 20 overs, with the prolific Desron Maloney making 79.

Out-A-Trouble replied with 101 for 9 from their 20-overs; Carlton Woodley top scored with 35; Travis Cumberbatch captured 3 for 12 and Stein Joseph, bowling for Simple Boys, finished with 3 for 13.

Incredibles defeated Glen United by 46 runs.

Batting first, Incredibles scored 149 for 5 off their 20-overs; Ruel Weekes cracked 57.

Glen United responded with 103 all out; Maxi Hackshaw slammed 52, as Micah Findlay claimed 3 for 21, to be Incredibles’ most successful bowler.

And, South Rivers beat Fully Loaded Hard Knocks by a massive 131 runs.

South Rivers compiled 200 for 6 from 20 overs; Dorian Barnum hit 70, Marvin Small scored 42 and Kadier Nedd added 27.

Fully Loaded Hard Knocks were then bundled out for 69. Orlan Wilkinson was the pick of the South Rivers bowlers as he took 6 for 19. (RT)
