Radcliffe completed their qualifying matches last Saturday morning at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field, with a 28-run triumph over Victors Two.

Batting first, Radcliffe’s innings of 188 for 4 from their 20 overs was propped up by 78 not out from Verbert King; Michael St. Hillaire scored 39 and Wayne Harper and Rodney Lawrence, both struck 26.

In response, former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards batsman, Denis Byam threatened to upset Radcliffe with a hard hitting 55. Afram Byam made 26 and Darnley Grant in his gradual comeback to competitive Cricket, hit 24.

Rodney Lawrence snared 3 for 19, Andy Harper 3 for 30 and Dyke Cato 2 for 24.

Victors Two, though, returned to the same venue later in the day, to oust Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors by eight wickets.

Darnley Grant, a former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windwards and West Indies Under-19 fast bowler, who also had a brief stint with the senior St Vincent and the Grenadines team, before he was sidelined with a back injury, grabbed 5 for 14; and Javon Samuel, 2 for 1, combined to dismiss Unique Warriors for 57.

Victors Two then reached 60 for 2, to win with some comfort.

Also on Saturday at Buccament, Smashers feasted on Eat Rite Saints by five wickets.

Saints made 88 all out. Bowling for Smashers, Kamon Greene took 4 for 18 and Marvin Harry captured 2 for 30.

Smashers responded with 90 for 5; Cuthbert Spring compiled 44. Isaac Haywood was Saints’ most successful bowler with 3 for 30. (RT)
