A successful first attempt in the X-Cel Barbados Relay Fair

The X-Cel Sports Club made its first showing in the Barbados Relay Fair last Saturday, with some success.{{more}}

Running in the Open Clubs and Institutions category, X-Cel participated in three events.

In the 4 x 800m, X-Cel came in second, and was third in both the Distance Medley and the 4 x 400m.

X-Cel was represented by an eight member team of seven athletes and one official.

The athletes making the trip were Keron Arthur, Lawrence Arthur, Jemmy Arthur, Lenroy May, Xa vique Cyrus, Roger Ottley and Yurnic Nanton. Rawlson Morgan doubled up as manager/coach.

X-Cel’s participation was made possible by Basils Enterprises, the National Lotteries Authority, Courts St. Vincent Limited and Team Athletics SVG.

Apart from the X-Cel Sports Club, St. Vincent and the Grenadines had representation from the Thomas Saunders Secondary School, which was making its second appearance in the Relay Fair.

The other non Barbados team was an outfit from the Guyana Community College.

Several clubs from the host nation made up the bulk of the participants.
