Taking a liking to the Stubbs bowling, Thomas swayed his teammates and supporters in a festive mood as he took charge of the response, scoring 81 not out.

Thomas’ innings was punctuated by 5 sixes and 9 fours. He and another former St Vincent and the Grenadines player Elvis Browne pulled the lawmen from 76 for 5 to the winning total of 161, without further loss. Browne contributed 28 not out. Parnell Browne made 21.

Theophilus Wallace took 2 for 35, but the bowler was guilty of dropping eventual Man of the Match Thomas before he got into his stride.

In the first stanza of the match, Dawnley Joseph and Leon Samuel put on a stand of 84 for the third wicket. Joseph posted 59, which included 3 fours and 4 sixes, and Samuel 50, decorated with 6 fours.

Bowling for Police, Sigmund Allen picked up 3 for 41, Oneil Thomas 2 for 17, and Calvin Glasgow, 2 for 37.

For their efforts, the RSVG Police outfit won the $1000 prize money which was up for the taking. (RT)
