London was one of five Committee Members elected last Saturday, when the SVGFF held a General Meeting at its office at Bentinck Square.

London, a Community Field Officer in the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Youth, Sports etc told SEARCHLIGHT: “I want to bring my years of community involvement to bear on national Football”.

Known for her tireless efforts on the Sports Committee of the South East Development Inc., London admitted, “My strengths are organization and management, and I am a slave to seeing things perfected.”

London was part of that committee that oversaw the successful revival of the Football and Netball competitions in the south east belt in 2011.

Cognisant that she cannot do it alone, London is soliciting the help of those who can guide her in the wider national sphere.

A former member of a sub-committee which dealt with Women’s Football under the St Clair Leacock-led Executive, London said she is particularly interested in assisting to promote her gender’s cause, but with the overall development of the sport as paramount.

London, who received the second highest number of votes, 35, in an eleven-way race for the five spots which were up for grabs, said she was overwhelmed by the support and confidence the affiliates have vested in her.

“I want to thank all those who supported me. I have Football at heart and will do my best”, London promised.

At present, London is part of the management of thirty-year-old GTM Prospect United Football Club; the First Vice President of the dormant National Youth Council (NYC), as well as the National Co-ordinator of the Caribbean Youth Environment Network.(RT)
