Seeking the title are Log Enterprises Kingstown and CK Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale.

The two earned their place in the finals with wins in last Sunday’s semi-finals at the Grammar School Playing Field.

First Kingstown was given an easy passage, as North Leeward Combined surrendered without much of a fight. Kingstown defeated North Leeward by eight wickets.

North Leeward batted first and was bowled out for 102 from their 20 overs.

Tyrone Walker took 3 for 2, and there were two wickets apiece for Cornelius Springer and Joseph Medford.

At their turn at the crease, Kingstown rushed to 103 for 2, from 11.3 overs.

Bradley Brooker made 45 not out and Winsbert Springer struck 33 not out.

In the second semi- finals at the same venue, Arnos Vale with their best showing in the competition thus far, stopped the 2010 champions RSVG Police by 24 runs.

Arnos Vale, on the back of their prolific batsman, Mc Neil Morgan, reached 176 for 8, from their 20 overs.

Morgan hit 76, laced with 6 fours and 4 sixes and Stephen Gibson weighed in with 23. The two staged a recovery of 84 runs for the fifth wicket, as Arnos Vale was in a precarious position of 57 for 4.

Parnel Browne was Police’s best bowler, with 3 for 40.

The Police team then became their own enemies, as several of their key batsmen gifted their wickets away, despite scoring at over nine runs per over.

Police eventually gave up the title, when they were dismissed for 152 in 17.5 overs. Oneil Thomas led the way with 46; skipper Elgin Richards hit 34 not out and Gosnel Cupid scored 23.

Mc Neil Morgan turned in a good all-round performance, as he snared 4 for 18 and James George chipped in with 3 for 29.

Prior to Sunday’s final, the Sixes Competition final will be contested.

Following the Arnos Vale versus Kingstown encounter, the Presentation and Awards Ceremony is slated to take place.(RT)
