Already in the bag for the law officers are the National Lotteries Bagga Competition, the ASCO Competition and the Sea Operations Greiggs Competition.

Last Saturday, Police moved one step closer in their quest to be crowned 2011 Softball Kings, when they first got past Bank of SVG in the quarter finals, then on Sunday, left Pine Hill Nice Radio Clinchers behind in the semi finals.

Bank of SVG All Stars batted first and made 88 for 9 in 20 overs. Bowling for RSVG Police, Elmore Alexander took 5 for 16, Malcolm Alexander, 2 for 13, and Gerald Gould, 2 for 23.

In reply, RSVG Police reached 94 for 4 in 13.4 overs. Gosnel Cupid made 34, and Renrick Cato, 25 not out.

In Sunday’s semi finals, Clinchers took first strike and made 93 for 7 in 20 overs. Neil Davy made 29, as Man of the Match Rolando Wright took 4 for 5.

RSVG Police responded with 95 for 5 in 17.2 overs to win by five wickets. Gerald Gould and Renrick Cato both made 20 not out. Bowling for Clinchers, Corlan John took 2 for 9.19.

Police’s rivals in the finals Simple Boyz stopped CGM Novice on Saturday to gain their berth in the last two.

Novice posted 108 for 8 in 20 overs. Roderick John struck 36 and Captain Elton Williams hit 23 not out.

Travis Cumberbatch, 2 for 11, Eldon Morris, 2 for 22, and Casmond Walters, 2 for 26, shared the wickets for Simple Boyz.

In response, Simple Boyz reached 102 for 6 in 17.1 overs, as bad light stopped play, with Elric Morris making 21, and Nicos Davis, 20. Chris King had 2 for 9.

The match was then decided on the 15 overs stage. After 15 overs, Novice was 74, while Simple Boyz was 95. Eldon Morris was adjudged Man of the Match.

In Sunday’s intended third place play off, Novice and Clinchers were forced to share the spoils after rain intervened.

Following this Saturday’s final, the Presentation Ceremony for both the Softball and Domino competition will take place.(RT)
