There will be a new Firms and Industrial Netball champion for 2011.

The new champion will be crowned tomorrow, Wednesday, when the final is staged between new entrants, Sports Division and NBC Radio 705.{{more}}

This, after the 2010 winners, Ministry of Education Teachers, was stopped by last year’s losing finalist, NBC Radio 705, last Thursday evening at the competition’s venue, the Kingstown Netball Centre.

It was revenge for NBC Radio 705 who lost out 45-44 in a thrilling finale last year.

But last Thursday in the first of the semi-finals, NBC Radio saw off the reigning champions 37-33 and Sports Division defused Courts Power House 34-10.

Tomorrow’s final, put off from last Saturday because of heavy rains, promises to be a competitive one, with Sports Division having the edge, having had it all their way leading up to this stage of the competition.

The potent Sports Division has in its line up seasoned national players Vasha Adams and Rose Clair Hall, along with accomplished players Debbi Jordan and Janette Toney, while NBC Radio will be depending on their duo of Skiddy Francis-Crick and Dellarice Duncan, both former national Netball stalwarts.

Prior to the finals, the third place play-off between Ministry of Education Teachers and Courts Power House, which is set for a 5:00 p.m. start, will take place.

The Closing and Presentation Ceremony will take place after the championship match.
