More teams advance in Belair Softball Cricket competition


Sea Operation Nar Fren Dem, Computec Older Boys and Simple Boyz all advanced in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition in between the showers last weekend.{{more}}

Play in the competition was only possible on Sunday.

In the first match, Nar Fren batted first and made 128 for 6 in 15 overs. The topscorer was Zimron Humphrey, who made 40. Bowling for Dr Thomas Injectors, Stephen Straker took 2 for 30

In reply, Dr Thomas Injectors reached 96 for 6 in 15 overs. The lead batsman was Ronnick Daniel, who hit 20. Bowling for Sea Operation Nar Fren Dem was Zeron Harry, who took 2 for 23.

In the second match, Computec Vintage Older Boys took first strike and made 85 for 6 from their 20 overs. Ovando O’Brien was the topscorer with 28. Marvin Small was the best of Street Fighters’ bowlers, as he took 2 for 12.

The potent Street Fighters batting could only make 69 all out in 14 overs.

Rohan King took 3 for 8, Michael John, 3 for 24, Junior Bacchus, 2 for 9, and Urias King, 2 for 14, all combined to earn their team a 16 run triumph.

And, Simple Boyz overcame Glen United by six wickets.

Glen sauntered to 90 for 8 in 20overs. Stein Joseph, 2 for 5, and Eldon Morris, 2 for 12, bossed the restricting job.

In reply, Simple Boyz reached 94 for 4 in 16.2overs. Desmond Maloney made 28, Casmond Walters, 23, and Stein Joseph, 22 not out, carried their team over the hump.

Bowling for Glen United, Marcus Hackshaw took 2 for 9.(RT)
