Firms Football Competition at midway stage


The inaugural Digicel/Breakaway Masters Firms Football Competition is at its mid- way stage, with teams jostling to make the playoffs of the league competition.{{more}}

The twelve participating firms, which are drawn in two groups, are seeking to lay hands on the first title.

Already nosing ahead in Group A, are Prime Minister’s Office and SVG Port Authority, both of whom have two wins and a draw each in their matches played.

Also stashed in that group is VINLEC, which has two wins, one loss and one drawn match.

Courts St. Vincent Limited has a lone win; so too does Coreas Hazells Inc., with Karib Cable suffering three losses.

SVG Coast Guard stays buoyant in Group B, having won three matches. The Coast Guard is followed by Digicel, which has one win, one loss and one draw in its column.

Sharing that position with Digicel is Transport and Works, one of the pre competition’s favourites, trailed by Customs, who has recorded two wins and a draw.

The others in the group are Combined Banks and CWSA.

Combined Banks has eeked out two draws and one loss and CWSA has one draw and two losses.

While teams are jostling for positions in the league format, the Knockout Competition is also underway and that too is at its mid point.

Matches in the competition are played each day of the week at the Grammar School Playing Field.

The competition is set to culminate on November 30. (RT)
