Nar Fren Dem shows Older Boys no mercy

Nar Fren Dem showed no mercy on Computec Older Boys recently at the Dauphine Playing Field, beating them by nine wickets, as the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Softball Cricket Competition staged another series of matches.{{more}}

The Older Boys’ innings reached 71 for 8 from their 20 overs. Kevin Huggins topscored with 18. Cleveton Woods, Danron Prince and Ardon Joyles all had two each, bowling for Nar Fren Dem.

In reply, Nar Fren Dem raced to 77 for 1 in 7.3 overs. Mark Durrant topped the batting with 33 and Clinton Woods was 19 not out.

Also recording a win was East Bank over Georgie Valley Saints.

East Bank posted 114 all out in 19.3 overs. Kevorn Clarke with 28 was the topscorer.

Emmerson Quashie with 3 for 33 and Kareem Cumberbatch, 2 for 14, were Georgie Valley Saints most successful bowlers.

At their turn, Georgie Valley Saints were toppled for 104. Zane Greaves made 23, as his team lost by nine runs.

Kevorn Clarke put in a good all-round effort, taking 3 for 23. There were also two wickets apiece for Marlon Farrell and Floyd Hull.

In another of Sunday’s matches, Dr. Thomas Injectors got past Mc’s Sprott I by 32 runs.

Batting first, Dr. Thomas Injectors made 127 for 6 from their allotted 20 overs, with Chet Thompson leading the way with 26. Jason Enville, Calvin Enville and Elroy Cumberbatch each collected two wickets.

In response, Mc Sprott I was dismissed for 98. Donald Cumberbatch made 37 not out, in a losing cause. Bowling for Dr. Thomas Injectors, Winston Snagg picked up 3 for 2 and Tex Franklyn 2 for 6.

Also in the victory column was Shot Callers, who stopped Mc Little Saints by six wickets on Saturday.

Jahziel Walter hit 20 in Little Saints’ total of 97 in 19. 3 overs. Osmond Forbes snared 4 for 23, and there were two wickets each for Dean Burgin and Carlon Baptiste.

Shot Callers replied with 98 for 4. Daron Harry, 20 not out, and Keon Bute, 20, were the principal scorers.

The other scheduled match for Saturday resulted in La Croix winning by default over Fully Loaded Batters.

Another five matches are carded for this weekend at the same venue. (RT)
