Arnos Vale gets three A team ODIs

The Arnos Vale Playing Field will host three One Day Internationals between the West Indies A and Bangladesh A on November 23, 25 and 27.{{more}}

The venue hosted four One Day Internationals in August/September between Pakistan and West Indies women.

The three ODIs are part of the two teams’ official series, which also includes two tests and two T/20 internationals.

The first test is set for the Sir Vivian Richards Oval in Antigua and Barbuda, from November 5-8, and the second at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia, from November 12- 15.

The Beausejour Stadium also hosts the T/20’s on November 18 and 19.

The West Indies A team will be led by Trinidadian Dwayne Bravo. Apart from Bravo, who has represented the regional side in 40 tests, 117 ODIs and 22 Twenty/20 Internationals, Grenadian Nelon Pascal and Jamaican Andre Russell have full test experience.

Jamaican Danza Hyatt, Antiguan Devon Thomas, and Barbadian Carlos Braithwaite have appeared for the senior West Indies team in ODIs, while Nkrumah Bonner got a brief run out in T/20 against England in late September.

The other members of the team are Barbadians Jonathan Carter and Kyle Corbin; Guyanese Rajendra Chandrika and Veerasammy Permaul, as well as Trinidadian, Shannon Gabriel.

Corbin, Chandrika, Veerasammy and Gabriel are members of the Sagicor High Performance Centre.

Optimism is high that St. Vincent and the Grenadines could be in line for at least a One Day International in 2012, when Australia visits for four tests and five ODIs.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines hosted Australia on June 24, 2008, in the first of the five One Day matches against the West Indies.

New Zealand also touches down in the region for three tests and five ODIs.

In 2010, the Arnos Vale venue hosted Zimbabwe in an unprecedented three ODIs. (RT)
