Masters Cricket moving on

Stubbs, Pastures, Henny Penny, P’tani, and Arnos Vale were all triumphant when another round of matches in the SVG Masters T/20 Cricket Competition took place last weekend.{{more}}

Dawnley Joseph continues to show that he still has batsmanship in him, when he led Stubbs to a seven wicket win over Sion Hill at Arnos Vale Two last Saturday.

Joseph hit 68 not out and Leon Samuel, 60, to push Stubbs to 152 for 3, in reply to Sion Hill’s 149 for 7, from their 20 overs.

In Stubbs innings, Cecil Charles was Sion Hill’s best bowler, with 2 for 27.

When Sion Hill batted, Augustine Victory hit a topscore of 36, and Theophilus Wallace took 3 for 27, bowling for Stubbs.

At the Grammar School Playing Field, also on Saturday, Joyette’s Auto Slater Development Pastures Masters defeated Premier Distributors Robertson Surveying Richards Masters by eight wickets.

Richards Masters made 114 all out. Nesran Walker hit 34 and Charles Durrant, 22. Ezekiel Trimmingham picked up 5 for 27, bowling for Pastures, who replied with 117 for 2. Jomo Thomas, 60, and Lennox Grant, 28, did the bulk of the scoring for Pastures successful run chase.

At the Buccament Playing Field on Sunday, Henny Penny Masters defeated Dasent Cottage Masters by nine wickets.

Dasent Cottage was dismissed for 79, with Zenus Samuel topscoring with 49 not out.

Israel Abraham had bowling figures of 3 for 5, while Leroy Barker and Reynold Neil picked up two wickets each.

Henny Penny replied with 85 for 1. Conrad Jack, 32 not out, and Bertram Stapleton, 23, were Henny Penny’s main batsmen.

At Arnos Vale Two on Sunday, St. Vincent Cooperative Bank P’ tani Masters recorded a six wicket win over Bickles Fun Masters.

Batting first, Bickles Fun Masters got to 97 all out. Elberto Dublin and Gosnel Quashie both hit 21.

Cassius Welcome, 3 for 27, and Ray Richards, 2 for 8, were P’tani’s most successful bowlers.

Alfred Mc Kenzie with 27 not out and Walford Ambris, 23, saw P’tani to 94 for 4.

And, also at the Arnos Vale venue, on Sunday, C.K.Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale Masters humbled La Croix Masters by nine wickets.

La Croix made 68 all out, with Wendell Parris making 25. Pat Warner, 5 for 15 and Elvis Woods, 2 for 6, were Arnos Vale’s main wicket takers.

Ted Roberts then hit 26 not out, as Arnos Vale rushed to 69 for 1.(RT)
