Maloney fires a century in Softball Cricket

Desron Maloney hit the first century in this year’s National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation T/ 20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field last Saturday.{{more}}

Maloney, who was called up the St. Vincent and the Grenadines senior team training squad, hit 101, as Simple Boyz, batting first, made 198 for 4 in 15 overs. Kesron O’Brien, 42 not out, and Eldon Morris, 24, added to Maloney’s ton.

In reply, Fully Loaded Batters were restricted to 64 for 4 in 15overs. Bowling for Simple Boyz, Sheldon Nanton took 2 for 11.

Also on Saturday, Bank of SVG All Stars uprooted ASCO for 33 all out in 9.4 overs. Debris Pitt, 5 for 14, Kelly Murray, 3 for 3, and Desmond Butchers, 2 for 2, led the bankers’ bowlers.

Bank of SVG All Stars replied with 34 for 4. Bowling for ASCO, Osborne Franklyn and Kevin Harry took two wickets each.

Bank of SVG All Stars made it two in a row when they met Fully Loaded on Sunday.

Glenroy Dasent made 65 not out, Newborn Joseph, 44, and Kentish Pope ,24 not out, as Bank of SVG All Stars posted 194 for 5 in 15 overs. Bowling for Fully Loaded Batters, Javed Harry took 2 for 30.

In reply, Fully Loaded Batters were dismissed for 91, as Glenrick Richards made 18 and Savil Phillips, 17.

Kelly Murray took 4 for 20 and Eddie Peters, 2 for 36, as Bank of SVG All Stars won by 103 runs.

Also on Sunday, Nar Fren Dem was hostile against Mc’s East Bank, beating them 92 runs.

Nar Fren Dem batted first and scored made 137 from their 20 overs. Their innings was led by Jamal John who made 51 and Kenford Collins who struck 48. Nicholas Baptiste took 2 for 31, bowling for East Bank.

Glenford Woodley took 3 for 5 and Keno Matthews, 2 for 13, assisted in dismissing East Bank for 45. Kristoff St.John made 17.

In the weekend’s final match, RSVG Police had the right antidote for Dr. Thomas Injectors.

The lawmen made 135 for 3 in 20 overs, batting first, as Elmore Alexander made 27, Maxian Richardson, 21, and Gerald Gould, 20 not out.

Bowling for RSVG Police, Malcolm Jack took 3 for 9, with Maxian Richardson and Rolando Wright taking two wickets apiece. (RT)
