The C and R Enterprises Sion Hill Netball competition opened last Saturday afternoon at the Sion Hill Playing Field Hard Court{{more}} with the traditional march past of competing teams and the opening ceremony.

Nine of the eleven teams were present at the march past.

Absent from opening ceremony was the usual sets of remarks, as several of the intended speakers were unavoidably not present.

The President of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Netball Association was absent due to his club’s fifth anniversary celebrations, but he was represented by his Second Vice President Thelma Foster.

Parliamentary representative for East Kingstown Arnhim Eustace had a previous engagement, but was represented by his daughter Maia Eustace.

The younger Eustace also made the first pass to officially set off the tournament.

In the adjudication of the awards, it was Nice Radio Clinchers which walked away with the Best Dressed Team Award, ahead of Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem and OSCC Owia Super Strikers, in that order.

Meeting the criteria for judging of the best banner was C and R Enterprises, the 2010 Division Two league winners. Docking in second in that category was Clinchers, and third was Nar Fren Dem.

In the feature match which followed, RP Ballers, which boasts several national players, beat new comers OSCC Owia Super Strikers 63-36 to take the Sylvia Knights- Clarke trophy.

RP Ballers return as double crowned winners in last year’s tournament, having won the league and knock out titles in Division One.
