There was a high turnout of primary school athletes, but they were at a disadvantage in the Under-15 category, as they were outshone by those from the secondary schools.

Triumphant in the Female Under-15 category was Melanie Woods. She was followed to the tape by Eslyn Myers, with Aaliyah Quashie placing third.

Among the males in the Under-15 category, Chaze John was first, with Benniton Stapleton taking the second spot and Kimani Peters, third.

The Under-19 Female Division saw Amanda Francis coming out on top, with Daniella Gilbert, placing second and Moriah King, third.

The emerging Ezra Samuel copped the top spot in the Male Under-19, leaving Caswell Lewis to settle for second spot and Iran Mack finished third.

The 19 and over females’ segment was taken by the durable Lisa Daniel. Nadia DeIplesche and Linda Mc Dowall were second and third, respectively.

Pamenos Ballantyne secured the Male 19 and over category, leaving Dwight Baptiste to take the second position, and third was former Carifta bronze medallist Junior Ashton.

The veterans category was won by Caswin Prince. He was trailed by Leslie Myles, and third was Leonard Ballantyne.

The top three finishers in each category received cash awards.

This Sunday, athletes will return to the road, in the Orange Hill to Sandy Bay race. (RT)
