This was the watchword by the speakers who mounted the podium at the commencement of this year’s edition, last Sunday, October 9, at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.

Speaking at the ceremony were President of the SVG Football Federation Venold Coombs; Parliamentary Representative for North Leeward Roland Matthews; Rudolph Daize of sponsors, Rudy’s Electrical; Chairman of the North Leeward Sports Association and Dwight Roberts, of the organizing committee of the competition.

Matthews told those gathered that in previous years, he stood and saw spectators getting involved in unsavoury incidents sparked by activities on the field of play, but said that this should be a thing of the past.

Thirteen teams are registered to participate in the competition; however, only six of them had representation at the March Past, which started late because of late arrival of teams.

Those who did not attend the opening ceremony without a valid reason were fined fifty dollars.

In the featured match, North Leeward defeated Sion Hill 2-1.

The competition begins in earnest on Wednesday. Outstanding Gauge of Barrouallie is the defending champion. (RT)
