ASCO upstages Simple Boys


ASCO caused a major upset last Sunday when they beat powerhouse Simple Boys by one wicket in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation T/20 Softball Cricket competition, at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}

Simple Boys batted first and made 118 from 20 overs, with Eldon Morris hitting 29 and Stein Joseph 23. Kevin Henry took 2 for 17 and Bernard Bushay 2 for 24. Rajiv Roberts then hit 36 and 19 not out, and Bernard Bushay pushed ASCO to 119 for 9. Travis Cumberbatch took 3 for 29 and Eldon Morris 2 for 21.

Meanwhile, RSVG Police kept hold on Sunset Strikers. Elmore Alexander 45 and Gerald Gould 22 led Police’s innings of 114 all out. Leroy Farrell 3 for 8 and Kyron Cumberbatch 2 for 15.

Sunset Strikers’ reply ended on 96. Leroy Farrell 39. Renford Jack 2 for 21.

On Saturday, Computec Vintage turned in good batting effort to make 106. Junior Bacchus hit 20 and Urias King 19. Kishorn Williams 3 for 13 and Zane Greaves 2 for 20.

Georgie Valley Saints were then dismissed for 97. Jonathan struck 32 and Kareem Cumberbatch 21. Bowling for Vintage, Junior Bacchus had 4 for 10 and Michael John 3 for 24.

Meanwhile, CGM Novice on the back of 84 from Roderick John, and Kenroy Martin 24 not out, made 146 for 5 from their 20 overs.

Kenroy Martin 3 for 13 and Norlan Williams were the top wicket takers as Shot Callers were dismissed for 50.

Glen also beat D’s and K’s Fully Loaded by nine wickets.

Fully Loaded got to 75. Aaron Charles made 17, as Wayne Garraway picked up 3 for 4 and Kerwin Browne 3 for 13.

Glen eased to 76 for 1. Michael Duncan stroked 38 not out. (RT)
