Rotary Softball Tournament bowls off


The Rotary Club St. Vincent South Independence 13th Annual eight-a-side Softball Cricket Festival bowled off last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, with ten matches being completed.{{more}}

Results of matches played on Saturday saw the Insurance Association defeating C.K. Greaves. Police also beat the National Sports Council, ECGC powered past Presidente of the St. Vincent Brewery, VINLEC got past Sagicor, and Hairoun Beer whipped S.G. DeFreitas.

In other results, Courts SVG Limited outclassed Guinness of the St. Vincent Brewery, while Rudy’s Electrical whipped Presidente, defending champions LIME defeated the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, CK Greaves beat SG Defreitas and Police recorded their second win, beating the National Insurance Services.

The Tournament is open to the various companies and organizations throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the objective of this tournament is to raise funds for local charities here.

Players are expected to wear T-Shirts advertising their company. Each team should consists of seven males and one female player. The winner will pocket EC$1,200 and a winner’s trophy.

ECGC was adjudged the best dressed team at Saturday’s opening.

LIME is the defending champion.

Action in the tournament will continue this Saturday, October 8, at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex, with all teams participating.
