Masters Cricket bowls off

The sixth edition of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Masters Cricket Competition bowled off last Saturday at the Grammar School Playing Field, with a Sixes Competition.{{more}}

Following a brief ceremony which heard remarks from the Chairman of the SVG Masters Cricket Committee, and Cecil Charles, a Committee Member of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association, it was then the turn of eight of the sixteen registered teams to be involved in the Sixes Competition.

In the first match, Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters defeated Bickles Fun Masters by 10 runs, with C.K. Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale Masters getting past Computec Belfongo Masters by 7 runs.

RSVG Police Masters, the reigning league and Knock Out winners, stopped La Croix Masters by 10 wickets. Then it was the turn of last year’s losing Sixes finalist Sion Hill, to defeat losing league finalist Stubbs Masters by 8 runs.

In the first semi finals, CK Greaves Vintage Arnos Vale Masters beat the 2010 Sixes champions Log Enterprises Kingstown Masters by 27 runs. And, Sion Hill Masters defeated RSVG Police Masters by 17 runs to set up a meeting with Arnos Vale in the finals.

The finals of the Sixes competition will be take on the same day of the finals of the 20/20 competition.

The 20/20 tournament starts in earnest this weekend, with games at London, North Union, Buccament and the Grammar School Playing Fields. (RT)
