Mespo Dem Boys run things in Diamond

Playing in soggy conditions at one of the newest sporting facilities in the land, Dem Boys of Mespo edged out Carib Warriors 3-2.
A brace by Don Laborde and a single strike by former national player Alwyn âPorpeyâ Guy were enough for Dem Boys of Mespo to lay hands on the first ever Football title in Diamonds.
Greg Brackin and Phileon Lavia netted for Carib Warriors.
In getting to the finals, Dem Boys of Mespo handed Spring Village a 3-1 beating, and Carib Warriors thumped off Vintage FC 7-1.
The champion team pocketed $1,500 for their efforts, with Carib Warriors, the National Lotteries Authority National Club Championships First Division winners, earning themselves $1,000.
Carib Warriors is also the reigning North East champions, and will compete in the top flight of the 2011-2012 national Football season.
Taking the third spot was 2010 Hairoun Beer Arnos Vale Football League winners, Vintage FC, who carried home $700.
At the Presentation Ceremony, Cosmore Toney of Jar Plum Highlanders was adjudged the Best Goal Keeper, with the Best Defender being Marden Robinson, also of High landers.
Dem Boys of Mespoâs Jâvar Francis was named the Best Midfielder. The top goal scorer was Highlandersâ Jay Cordice, with 11 goals.
Javon Shallow of Brownstown Royal Saints collected the Director of Sports and Physical Education award for being the youngest player in the competition.
The Best Dressed team was Carib Warriors, and Owia Shottas, the Most Disciplined Team. (RT)
