The ten, four males and six females, students of the Pamelus Burke Primary School, each received a Head Tennis racquet and a pair of Adidas Tennis shoes.

The presentation was made at the Grassroot Tennis Club, located at the Haddon Hotel courts at Murray’s Road.

The recipients are all members of GTC and the timely presentation comes as a prelude to the repair of the Byera Hill courts, which is set to commence soon.

Sales and Marketing Manager of Karib Cable Kyle Dougan, in handing over the racquets and shoes, said that the value of his company’s donation was EC $5,000.

Dougan said that the presentation was part of the company’s policy to forge and sustain corporate partnerships with the Vincentian community, which supports them.

Dougan presented the gifts to the players individually, who all said a big “Thank You”, for the gesture.

The youngsters then immediately put their new gear to the test, as they took to the courts for a hit.

Grant Connell, the head of the GTC, said he was grateful to Karib Cable, whom he said as recently as last month provided a large tent during the club’s Summer Camp.

He also acknowledged that Head is the official racquet of the GTC and thanked Richard Schaffer of the Mustique Tennis Club for facilitating the initial contacts.

Connell challenged other corporate entities to follow in Karib Cable’s steps and come forward and help sports.(RT)
