Middlesex boots Cavaliers out of BCL T/20

Middlesex emerged triumphant in an all Vincy clash against Cavaliers last weekend in the Brooklyn Cricket League T/20 Competition at Marine Park C.{{more}}

Middlesex took first strike and posted 181 for 8 from 20 overs. Sharaz Baksh slammed 89, and Adam Sanford, 20 not out.

Bowling for Cavaliers, Roberto Bynoe took 2 for 29, and Michael Providence, 2 for 31.

Cavaliers, in reply, lumbered to 103 for 8 from 19 overs. Albert Tesheira topscored with 31 and Ezekiel Williams made 22.

For Middlesex, Sharaz Baksh crowned off a good all round performance with 3 for 12, as they romped to a 78 run win and entering Cavaliers’ run in the T/20 competition.

Imperial, another Vincy outfit, also advanced against Wanders at Marine Park B also on Saturday.

Imperial raced to 240 for 4 in 20 overs, with Jason Williams cracking 119 and Jason Nelson – hit 52 not out.

Rawle Jackman was Wanderers’ most successful bowler, with 2 for 37. Wanderers was shot out for 90 in 16.3 overs. Shamroy Primo was the pick of the Imperial bowlers, with 3 for 24, Orlin Earle, 2 for 11, and Augustus Mofford took 2 for 16, as Imperial won by a whopping 150 runs.

However, on Sunday, Imperial’s match against Grenada was abandoned because of rain.

Imperial scored 124 for 9 in 20 overs, with Kester Sylvester making 36, and Foster Lewis contributing 35. Lindon Richards took 2 for 15.

Grenada was 15 for 1 in two overs when the skies opened.(RT)
