Belair Believers chalked up 84 for 2 from their 10 overs, with Desron Woods topscoring with 32. Mandela King chipped in with 15 not out. Jamary Woods picked the 2 wickets to fall for 18 runs.

Ashburton Sons of God replied with 57 for 2 from their allotment of ten overs, giving Belair Believers a 23 run win.

But Ashburton Apostles marched to their fourth consecutive championship title when they defeated first time finalist Riley Chronicle, also last Tuesday.

Apostles posted 74 for 6 off the allotted 10 overs. Akeyso Davis hit 24 and Michael Lynch, 23. Jawan Laborde took 2 for 5.

Riley Chronicles struggled to 54 for 8 when the overs ran out. Keson Williams topscored with 20. Joel Lewis snared 3 for 10, Michael Lynch, 3 for 13, and Javier Bailey, 2 for 9.

Ashburton Apostles has appeared in every final since the competition’s inception.

Ashburton Apostles had an easy entry to the finals, after Belair Conquerors did not have enough players in their intended semi final meeting.

Riley Chronicles got to the final with a 25 run triumph over Georgie Valley Saints in their semi finals.

The presentation will be held at the Glad tidings Tabernacle on a date to be announced.

Three teams contested the Under-12 and four were stashed in the Under-16.

Chief organiser Dennisford Foster told SEARCHLIGHT that the competition is part of the Glad Tidings Tabernacle Church Evangelistic Outreach Summer Programme for school boys and is geared towards bringing the boys of the neighbouring communities together to have a time of fun and fellowship. (RT)
