Middlesex overcomes Imperial in all Vincy BCL clash


Middlesex overcame Imperial in an all Vincy clash last week Sunday at Marine Park A, as the Brooklyn Cricket League hit a high point.{{more}}

Donwell Hector and Timmy Thomas both scored 74. Hector’s innings saw him hitting 11 fours, while Thomas’ knock included 8 fours and 4 sixes. Thomas struck leg spinner Byron Mars for 32 in one over.

Dominic Audain contributed 67 not out, as Middlesex posted 303 for 7, from their 30 overs.

Former Grenada, Windwards Islands and West Indies Under-19 batsman Kester Sylvester, with 3 for 50, was Imperial’s most successful bowler.

Replying, Imperial could only reach 202 for 4 from their 30 overs. Kester Sylvester hit 68, with former Leewards Islands player Jason Williams making 45. Orient Bostic scored 37 not out.

Sharaz Baksh took 4 for 33 as Middlesex won by 101 runs.

On Saturday, at Marine Park C, Cavaliers, another Vincentian outfit, took on Punjah.

Punjah made 233 for 7 in 32 overs. Imran Mazar topscored with 51.

Timothy Warner with 4 for 47 was Middlesex’s best bowler.

In reply, Cavaliers innings stopped at 232 for 6 in their 32 overs, to lose by one run.. Albert Tesheira led the way with 84, and Keith Hibbert compiled 33.

Matches for this Saturday see another Vincy team Queenbury meeting Brooklyn Stars at Marine Park A, while Imperial will face Challengers at Seaview

On Sunday , Queenbury will play Diplomats again at Marine Park A, while Middlesex and Panthers play at Marine Park B.
