Ruddy’s Electrical records back to back wins in NL T/20

Former champions of the Vinlec North Leeward Sports Association T/20 Cricket Competition, Ruddy’s Electrical, recorded back to back wins last Saturday and Sunday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field.{{more}}

On Saturday, feeling the power of Ruddy’s Electrical was Carlos James(CJ) Troumaca Starlights.

Batting first, Starlights made 131 for 9 off 15 overs, in a match reduced due to fading light. Leeshawn Lewis struck 51 and Relando Samuel 37. Rudolph Daize was the lead bowler with 4 for 21.

Ruddy’s Electrical made 132 for 7 off 12.4 overs. Harley Skerritt hit 36, Leon Samuel 29 and Christopher Campbell 22.

Phillip Anthony 3 for 34, Dorson Cottle 2 for 28 and Zemron Providence 2 for 38, shared the wickets for CJ Troumaca.

On Sunday, losing 2010 finalist Somerset also went under to Ruddy’s Electrical by eight wickets.

Somerset posted a competitive 154 for 8 off 20 overs. Kevan Small topped their batting with 43 and Orville Franklyn made 35. Rudolph Daize was again the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 33.

In response, Ruddy’s Electrical rushed to 160 for 2 off 14 overs. Christopher Campbell compiled 54, Harley Skerritt 53 and William Edwards 25 not out.

In other matches, Winterset Ball Beaters defeated Sharps United by 24 runs and Peto Stars got the better of Future Legends by seven wickets.

Winterset Ball Beaters reached 182 for 4 off their 20 overs. Maxford Edwards hit a topscore of 83 and Devon Patterson contributed 41 not out. Andel Prince was the most successful bowler for Sharps United with 2 for 34.

But Sharps United’s inning could only get to 158 for 9 from the allotment of 20 overs. Wilton Skinner 39 and Keven Michael 24, were the main contributors with the bat. Fitzmore Edwards had figures of 2 for 15.

Future Legends was dismissed for 124 off 17.5 overs. Calvert Cordice made 24, as Vidal Edwards took 3 for 22.

Peto Stars, in reply, made 125 for 3 off 15.1 overs. Rangel Small struck 54, Otis Matthews 28 and Ronique Laborde 26, combined to see their team home. Molani Edwards took 2 for 39, bowling for Future Legends.(RT)
