In front of a small gathering of Netball die-hards, Mitres beat arch rivals Vita Malt Maple 66-61 to end unbeaten throughout the season. Maple, the 2010 Knock Out winners, led the first quarter 17-14, but Mitres rebounded to take the second, 33-28, the third, 50-44, and finally 66-61. For Mitres, Gailene Gordon scored 51 of her 56 attempts, Shellisa Davis, 13 of 19, and Nicole Sandy- Stevenson, 2 of 3. For Maple, Skiddy Francis-Crick recorded 52 of her 59 attempts and Thelma Foster 9 of her 18.

Francis -Crick’s team mate Vasha Adams copped the Most Outstanding Senior Player award for the second year in a row.

Mary Ann Fredrick was the leading scorer among the Juniors and the Most Accurate Shooter for the fourth year in succession.

The bean pole Frederick, the 2009 Junior Sportswoman of the Year, poured in 352 goals of her 388 attempts, to return a 90.72 % accuracy.

The Most Outstanding Junior Player was Shanice Daniel, of French Verandah X-Ceed. Daniel was also named the Best Centre Court Player.

The Best Senior Defender was Pearlitha Sylvan, of X- Ceed, and for the Juniors, it was Delonie Sam, of Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem.

Ruth Ann Williams, of Twilight Trading X- Ceed, copped the Best Center Court award among the seniors.

Additionally, one member of each of the 33 teams which finished the competition was awarded with her team’s Most Valuable Player award.

The shared team awards saw Third Eye Security X- Ceed taking the Division 3 League title and Nar Fren Dem, the Knock Out.

Nature Care Netters took the Division 4 League competition, and Dutch Lady Clinchers, the Knock Out.
