Bequia T/20 hits semi finals


The semi finalists in the Hairoun Beer Bequia T/20 Cricket Competition have been decided.{{more}}

Through to the last four are defending champions Knights Trading Aussies, Admirality Transport Youth Combine, Bequia Express West Side Knockers, and Combined Youths.

The match ups which are set for the weekend of July 16 and 17 pit Youth Combine versus Combined Youths, and Aussies against West Side Knockers.

Three of the semi finalists were involved in last weekend’s final round of preliminary matches.

Aussies revelled in their match against United. Drumo Toney, 132, and Razine Browne, 124, clobbered United’s bowling to post 383 for 6 from their 20 overs.

Clint Stowe, 3 for 65, and Mc Kenton Kydd, 2 for 67, show some reward for the carnage.

In response, United was shot out for 61. Drumo Toney took 3 for 8 and Dean Browne, 2 for 11, pushed their team to a massive 332 runs win.

Joining in the parade, was Youth Combine, which recorded a comfortable eight wicket triumph over West Side Knockers.

Zane Edwards hit 36, and Neil Baptiste, 32, as West Side Knockers scored 137 for 9, for their 20 overs. Jenry Ollivierre took 3 for 17, and Garvin Ollivierre, 3 for 32, for Youth Combine.

In reply, Youth Combine’s batsmen led by Dominic Stowe’s 54 not out strolled to 139 for 2.

Jenry Ollivierre chipped in with 27.

The other scheduled match saw Village Apartments Port Elizabeth winning by default from Manicou.

The competition takes a break this weekend as national Carnival celebrations take precedence. (RT)
