Shem Browne blazes double century in Bequia T/20


Shem Browne blasted the first double century in the Hairoun Bequia T/20 Cricket Competition when he lashed a belligerent 210 not out for Knights Trading Aussies against D’Graduates last Sunday afternoon at the Clive Tannis Playing Field.{{more}}

Browne, who last month made his debut at the senior St. Vincent and the Grenadines level at the Windwards T/20 in Dominica, struck 23 fours and 16 sixes in his history making effort, as Aussies piled up 293 for 4 from their 20 overs.

Ryan Cozier with 2 for 72 stood in the way of Browne’s power hitting.

In reply, D’ Graduates were 114 for 8 in the 17th over when rain ended the match. Orlanzo Billingy made 34, as Mishack Williams took 3 for 6 and Razine Browne, 3 for 18, bowling for the Aussies.

On Saturday, Village Apartments Port Elizabeth eased past United by three wickets.

United was dismissed for 130. Bernard Derrick led Port Elizabeth’s bowling attack with 4 for 13 and Les Malcolm took 3 for 6.

Les Malcolm then hit a top score of 29, as Port Elizabeth reached 132 for 7. Mc Kenton Kydd bagged 4 for 21.

The last of the preliminary round of matches will be played this weekend.

On Saturday, from 2 pm, Manicou takes on Port Elizabeth. On Sunday, United plays Knights Trading Aussies from 10 am, and from 2 pm, Admiralty Transport Youth Combine faces Bequia Express West Side Knockers. (RT).
