TASVG names training squads for regional and international meets

Team Athletics SVG has named a set of locally based athletes for upcoming regional and international meets.{{more}}

Among the home grown senior athletes called up are Casnel Bushay, Amail Samuel, Courtney Bascombe, Lawrence Arthur, Keron Arthur, Yurnic Nanton and Courtney Williams.

Those being considered for possible selection to the Panam Juniors are Brandon Parris of the Thomas Saunders Secondary, Kasique Oliver of the St. Martin’s Secondary, Keron Arthur of the St. Vincent Grammar School, Jesse Ryan of the North Union Secondary, Chaz Howe of the Petit Bordel Secondary, Nikita Toney of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College, Kenroy Cupid, the St. Martin’s Secondary and Shanel Mc Kie of the Petit Bordel Secondary.

Lenesha Olliver of the Bethel High School leads the pack of hopefuls for the Central America and Caribbean Juvenile championships.

Also among them, from the secondary schools, are Dominique Pierre of the Union Island Secondary, Neillo Edwards and Rogike Thorpe of the Thomas Saunders Secondary, Kareem King and Deslorn Lawrence of the St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, Juwani Williams of the West St. George Secondary and Mc Kish Compton of the St. Vincent Grammar School.

Emerging from the just concluded Inter Primary Schools Championships, and already in the eyes of national selectors are Wenecia Alexander of the Stephanie Browne Primary on Union Island, Affifa Lynch of the Kingstown Preparatory School, Brenna George and Jomarie Lynch of the Layou Government, Jahvan Peters of the Brighton Methodist, Zanique Williams of the Lowmans Leeward Anglican, Andre Peters of New Prospect and Kimani Peters of the Colonarie Primary.

The CAC Juvenile Championships are set for Tortola in the British Virgin Islands on July 1 and 2, with the Panam Juniors scheduled for Mirimar, USA, July 20 to 22. (RT)
