Rudy’s Electrical shocks Surprizers in Bagga T/20

Rudy’s Electrical toppled table toppers Surprizers as the National Lotteries Authority Bagga Twenty-20 Softball Cricket Competition continued last weekend at the Keartons Playing Field.{{more}}

Surprizers from a position of 74 for 2 in the 15th over, slipped to 95 for 9 at the end of the 20th.

Calvert Cordice hit 24, and Roy Richards, 17. Bowling for Rudy’s Electrical, Omaro Gaymes took 3 for 25. Rudy’s Electrical then cruised to 99 for 7 from 19 overs. Leon Samuel with 26, and Alphie Gould, 20, saw them through. Neville Williams and Handel Browne took 2 for 16 and 2 for 20, respectively.

Also Splendor Boys beat Coming Again by 38 runs. Splendor Boys posted 115 in 19.4 overs, thanks to Renrick Edwards’ 38 not out. Omaro Kirby made 29. Raymond Audain took 2 for 20. Come Again was dismissed for 77, as Joshua Bonadie bagged 4 for 26.

In a replay fixture, suspended earlier because of a freak accident, Glen United beat Kingdom Life Ministries by nine wickets. K.L.M batting first and made 51. Glen United then made very light work of the target reaching K.L.M’s score in 6.1 overs, with Michael Duncan scoring 18.

But in a very keenly contested match, Summerset narrowly escaped with a victory over Valley Boys. Summerset scored 109 for 6 in their 20 overs. Christopher Howe scored 30 and Orlando Charles, 27. Winston Bascombe was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 21.

Valley Boys’ innings ended at 97. Leading the Valley Boys charge was Randolph Bascombe with 24, with his brother David Bascombe scoring19. Christopher Howe completed an all-round performance claiming 3 for 19.

Circumstances claimed an easy win over Future Legends, who arrived late.

Also last weekend, the Under-17 and Female Divisions got started.

In the Under-17, Hill View defeated Keartons by six wickets. Keartons batting first and made 66 all out in 12.1 overs. Marico Ash ended with figures of 4 for 14 in 3 overs, inclusive of a hattrick. Lester James Jr’s 39 not out saw Hill View home. Emroy Gloster was also a hattrick bowler, as he ended with 4 for 23 in his 4 overs.

In the female Division, Hill View beat Outstanding Girls.

Hill View reached 54 all out in 7.5 overs in a match reduced to 8 overs. This proved an uphill battle as Outstanding Girls only managed 29. Ann-Marie Christopher had 2 for 3. (RT)
