Workshop to be held on Prohibited Substances in Sports

The National Commission for UNESCO in collaboration with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) will host a two-day workshop entitled: ‘Understanding Prohibited Substances in Sport’ on March 17 and 18, 2011, at Frenches House, Kingstown.{{more}}

The workshop aims to provide the fundamentals, which empower athletes and youth to make informed decisions to protect the integrity of sport. It is the group’s hope that Physical Education and Sports Teachers, Coaches, Sport Administrators, National Sports Men and Women would be fully informed on the role of NADO and RADO, and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in the process.

Additionally, the revised International Standard for doping control in relation to ‘in and out of competition testing’ for banned substances in sport will be on the agenda. The presenters will be a mix from RADO, the Regional Anti-Doping Organization and local Doping Control Officers.
