Ex- national female cricketer dies
The local Cricket fraternity is mourning the loss of Earlene De Grads, who passed away last Tuesday after a battle with illness.{{more}}
De Grads, 43, who was a hard hitting lower order batter and a right arm leg spinner, represented St. Vincent and the Grenadines for many years, and was a stalwart in the local competition, representing teams from the North Leeward area.
De Grads, in the local womenâs competition, was the leading wicket taker, and was second in the bowling average.
One of De Gradsâ best bowling performances in regional competition was here in 2005, when she bagged 4 for 26 against Trinidad and Tobago in the deciding match, in which the Trinidadians emerged winners, dethroning the hosts.
De Grads is expected to be laid to rest this Sunday in her home village of Petit Bordel.
