The 2010 Christmas National Junior Tennis Championships sponsored by the St. Vincent & the Grenadines Tennis Association concluded on Tuesday, December 28, crowning new junior Tennis champions and readying Junior Tennis players for a competitive 2011 in national, regional and international Tennis competitions.{{more}}

The 2010 Christmas National Junior Tennis Championships completed a full schedule of Tennis events for 2010, including three national junior tournaments, an International Tennis Federation (ITF) junior tournament, national team participation in the 2010 Under-13 Caribbean Development Championships, national team participation in the 2010 Central American & Caribbean Games (Puerto Rico) and Commonwealth Games (India), fundraising events, and other Tennis related events.

In the Boys Under 18 Finals, Fabrice George defeated Jonathan Perry in the marquee matchup. In doubles competition, Fabrice George and Jonathan Perry defeated Cody Ince and Chad Francis. The Girls Under 18 winner was Michelle Gun-Munro, with runner-up Olivia Haslam.

Rafai Bentick defeated Jonathan Perry for the Boys Under 16 title. Halima Michael defeated Olivia Haslam in the Girls Under 16 category.

In the Boys Under 14 singles, Akeem Guy defeated Richard Akcayli In doubles, Zachery Williams and Akeem Guy defeated Richard Akcayli and Sebastian Cyrus. The Girls Under 14 winner was Chelsea Haslam, with runner-up Denee Lyttle. In doubles, Chelsea and Roberta Haslam defeated Denee and Luka Lyttle.

The Boys Under 12 Champion was Sebastian Cyrus, with runner-up Alexander Cyrus. The Girls Under 12 champion was Chelsea Haslam, with runner-up Denee Lyttle. The Boys Under 10 Champion was Khamisi Bascombe, with runner-up Dejeante Simmons.

The 2010 Christmas National Junior Tennis Tournament concluded with a trophy ceremony attended by parents, coaches and friends at the National Tennis Centre in Villa. The Challenge Trophy, presented to the best player of the tournament, was awarded to Chelsea Haslam. Most improved Under 18 was awarded to Cody Ince, Most improved U14 was awarded to Richard Akcayli, and Most Improved Under 12 was awarded to Keshawn Butcher. Tournament Director was Roxann Williams and Assistant Tournament Director was Alrick Wright.

The SVGTA is pleased to announce its Annual General Meeting for elections of a new Tennis Executive to be held on Wednesday, January 19th, 2011, at the National Tennis Centre in Villa at 6:30PM.
