The festival will involve the zones currently participating in the SVGFF’s Youth Development Programme.

And there will be added participation, as secondary school females will have a presence through the Futsal Pilot Programme.

The festival will also form the culmination of the year’s activities, and serve as a send-off for the Christmas vacation.

As a forerunner to the festival, many of the zones were part of the All Sports Festival put on by the National Olympic Committee early last month, and proved to be one of the highlights of the one-day affair.

The event will also incorporate a Community Development undertone, and a Family Day type atmosphere, in which parents and guardians can participate and encourage their children and wards.

At this festival, according to the Secretariat of the SVGFF, there will be added attractions and give-aways.

The Grassroots Programme of the SVGFF, complements its Win in CONCACAF with CONCACAF, another initiative which targets development from the ground upward.

Grassroots Football, as envisaged by the SVGFF, strives to bring together as many people as possible, through exchanges and the sharing of human values. This, the SVGFF hopes to achieve by creating an environment that fosters relationships, team spirit and fun for the “Game of the People”, football.(RT)
