Simple Boys after the double


The 10/10 and league finals of the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organisation Competition will take place this Saturday at the Dauphine Playing Field, and Ken’s Plumbing and Associates Simple Boys will be looking to do the double.{{more}}

Simple Boys meet RSVG Police in the League final and CGM Novice in the 10/10 final.

Simple Boys advanced to the final of the league last Sunday, however, in controversial circumstances.

The Owia Stars team, dissatisfied with an umpire’s decision walked off the field, thereby forfeiting the match. Owia was at the time replying to Simple Boys’ 112.

RSVG Police got to the final after beating Street Fighters by eight wickets.

Street Fighters batted first and made 75 for 2 in 15 overs. Delroy Johnson scored 27. Rolando Wright took 2 for 9 and Demeris Daniel, 2 for 13, bowling for Police.

Maxian Richardson then hit a topscore of 28, as Police got to 80 for 6. James De Freitas had 2 for 9, and Linden James, 2 for 15, in a losing effort for Street Fighters.

The previous day Saturday, Street Fighters had beaten Young Strikers by 50 runs.

Osni Billingy scored 63 and Westrick Straugh 21 as Street Fighters posted 112 for 7 from 15 overs. Zimron Baptiste, 3 for 15, and Davidson Lavia, 2 for 24, were the lead bowlers for Young Strikers.

In reply, Young Strikers was dismissed for 62. Ronald Hoyte made 26.

Richie Richards bagged 4 for 13, and James De Freitas 3 for 2.

Following Saturday’s finals, the Presentation Ceremony will take place. (RT)
