Playing against the surprise finalist, Owia Stars, through the bowling of Orlanzo Jackson and Deighton Butler, Rivals were able to restrict Owia to 79 for 9 from 18 overs.

Jackson tool 3 for 20, and Butler, 2 for 15. Dean Browne was the topscorer for Owia with 24 and Shem Browne hit 20.

In response, Rivals won on a faster scoring rate, making 58 for 4, in 10.4 overs, to register another lien on the competition. Nicholas Baptiste struck 23.

Owia, the previous day, also at the Stubbs Playing Field, had much to be proud of, when in another rain interrupted match, beat OLA Boutique Radcliffe, also via the run rate route.

Radcliffe made 99 for 3, off 15 overs, reduced because of a heavy shower. Radcliffe’s innings was given a kick start by Wayne Harper, who scored 38 at the top of the order, and Captain Linden James, who with some lusty blows scored 26.

Owia was 90 for 3, in the 13th over, when umpires Dillon Child and Colbert Mc Donald called play because of bad light.

However, Owia was in a better position at that point, enough to earn a place in the final. (RT)
